Dug up a pair of capped bars out of a paved road. ?ÿThe one setting them reported them to have been set 6 inches below the surface. ?ÿFortunately, they were only two inches deep....

Makes you wonder about what he has always told his wife a foot was.

In what state? Setting a rebar 6" below a paved surfaces implies setting it in a hole. Frost can easily pop up a rebar a few inches, especially in a hole in a paved road that would channel water beneath the road surface.

Far more moderate freeze thaw situation here than in PA. ?ÿNot an issue. Especially in properly compacted road base material.

Minor hole filled with cold patch.

Depth to bar increases slightly over time with annual or semi-annual chip/seal applications.?ÿ
