Does anyone remember how to do this?

Hey... my first post! David Absher talked me into it.
There is a document on the Trimble support site that describes how to do a hard reset of a Series 4000 receiver. If my memory serves (and sometimes it doesn't), the procedure I used all those years ago is as described in this PDF.

A hard resert (or cold boot) won't affect any data stored on the receiver according to the instructions.
Enjoy.

Thanks Scott for the reply. I had tried that site, but it appears that the PDF is gone or at least I can't access it on my computer.
Thanks again for the input.

Hopefully without offending the copyright gods...
Here is a cut 'n paste (sans formatting) from the PDF.
Summary: If a Series 4000 receiver fails to acquire a new constellation, exhibits firmware anomalies, or exhibits
a lockup, you will need to do a hard reset. Doing a hard reset will not affect any data that is stored in the receiver.
This TIP includes instructions for doing a hard reset on a Series 4000 (DL2, DS, RL2, RS, SE, SI, SSE, SSI)
receiver.
How to Do a Hard Reset on a Series 4000 Receiver
a. Supply power to the receiver, making sure that the receiver is powered off.
b. Hold down both the [Clear] and [Log Data] keys.
c. While holding down these two keys, press and release the [Power] key.
d. Continue holding down the[Clear] and [Log Data] keys until the receiver beeps once. The receiver may
display, for example, the following:
4000 SSE GEODETIC SURVEYOR | CLEAR ALL
TEST MENU
SETUP/CONTROL
e. Select the top black softkey which states CLEAR ALL. The following screen will appear.
CLEAR MEMORY |
CAUTION: PRESSING WILL CAUSE | YES
ALL NON-VOLATILE RAM TO BE ERASED!! |
RECEIVER WILL RESTART | NO
f. Select YES. A hard reset has now been performed. The receiver will go through its normal power-up
sequence.
Note: Performing a hard reset procedure will cause the receiver to lose its almanac. To renew the almanac, you will
need to place the receiver outside with the antenna hooked up and powered on. Make sure the antenna has a clear
view of the sky. You will not need to log a survey. Allow the receiver to sit for either approximately 15 minutes.
FYI, the link works for me... interesting.

Actually, both the receiver and the antenna can be indoors with the top of the antenna facing out when acquiring a new almanac. It only needs to tract one SV to get the almanac. The almanac is data, so multipath from being indoors has no affect. It should take about fifteen minutes for the receiver to download enough of the almanac to pop and go the next day. This is a good idea for the evening before observations whenever the receiver sits in the closet for a while.

Thanks Scott, Dave, and Steve
I guess it is time to have my main computer worked on. I tried about 10 times to download the PDF. I now have my old SSE running again!
