Hi,
Months ago I asked you guys for a price to sell this unit, working and calibrated and not used since. It is a fine working unit, not a collectors item. Clear optics and well looked after.

Someone said that ebay sold one for $1700. I called a dealer in the usa and said he would sell them for $1800 to $1900..
So I did get two answers to the $1700 add i ran, one guy offering $1200, and another did not reply.

I know things are worth what others will pay, but compared to a new plummet, even the later ones with higher specs, as a tool of the trade it compares well when you mean the readings 4 ways. The specs are 1in 30,000 but i have gone 80 metrs vt to illuminated targets no problem, and checked the results with the later 1 in 50000 or 1 in 70000 and they matched readings to 1mm.

So compared to a 10 grand model for the frequencey of use, i dont see $1700 being too expensive. I am only selling 1, I have 2, in case I need one between now and retirement, i have had to use them in tandom at times on adjacent faces and also vertically aligned.
I do not carry them in these original boxes like the photo, i enclose them in bubblewrap.
Cheers
David

I don't need one for the type of work that I do, but $1800 - $1900 sounds very reasonable for that plummet considering the condition you describe and how relatively rare they are.

Hi,
Thanks Kent, I just wanted to make sure the $1700 I advertised was not too much for a working instrument. Have you ever used one, they cant be outdated I think, if it works and does whats its supposed to do.It only looks up and down.
Cheers and thanks
David

No, I haven't used one, but if I needed one for a project, I would consider $1700 a bargain. It's a very specialized piece of equipment that is needed in an area of surveying where the chargeout rates are substantial and the cost of failure is heavy.

hi
you get used to it after awhile, it becomes second nature but you have methods to quadruple check most things and always stay aware, I could not do what you do without serious study, horses for courses. i enjoy your posts.

Looks like you have a sewing machine handy to sew up some dust socks for those instruments.
