Don't ever say anything bad about my plumb bob

Unless you want to start a fight....

I still carry and use mine.

Uses for Plum bobs (NOT)

The Boss's 11 yr. old son was helping us by painting our blazes. He lost the paint can nozzel and so punched a hole in the can with his plumb bob. Painted his teeth red. This sent some one of the crew into hysterics as he was mopping up the kids face.

If you take the top off, and drill a hole in the top of your hard hat (Picture it....) Then put the plum bob upside down on top of the helmet, and screw the top back on, You end up with something that looks like a German Helmet. (WW I)

A damn good way to store the plumb bob while being stylish at the same time.

Next week....accents with orange and yellow ribbon-flagging. 😉

I Can Hear My Old Party Chiefs........

........from the 60's, rolling in their graves.

We were never allowed to do ANYTHING with our plumb bobs except give line. I once got caught hammering a tack into a stake with my bob, and well, I though I had run over his dog.

Plum bobs

In over 40 some years, I don't think I ever saw a plum bob that was smooth. Actually, the bumps gave you a better grip, Right?

I just can't imagine not having a plumb bob, compass and a measuring tape of a useful length on my person when I am in the field...

(wish I got into the field more often these days)
