The law was passed by the town. bit in my honest opinion was not needed. It is already in state law that any document presented for approval by a governing body in new york must be stamped by a professional engineer or land surveyor. The issue we have in this immediate area is a home owner will go in for a permit to put a building on a lot or an addition on their house with either a sketch or by drawing on a survey. They still do not know where the property lines are. Building permits are issued based on these sketches, then later down the road, surveys are done and zoning violations are found.
