I know with our tsc3 it won't connect if the hotspot on your phone requires a password. Try going into your phone settings and making the hotspot openly available. Then reset collector and phone and try. There is also a glitch with ours where when you first try to connect you have to go into the wifi settings in the collector, fake connect to another available network then hold down on the right hotspot and select connect.?ÿ
Change the name of the iPhone. Get rid of the apostrophe before the S. Get rid of spaces too. Change the encryption to WPA if you can.
Hi, I stumbled upon your post while looking for answers myself, we were having the exact same problems as you have described.?ÿ It connected just fine with anything other than an iPhone.
The solution that I found, is to use the Laird connection manager instead of the built-in WiFi manger.?ÿ?ÿ
?ÿ
First, you'll need to make sure that your iPhone's hotspot is active.
Second, open Laird Connection Manager on the TSC3, located under settings>connections.
Third, tap on the "configuration" tab at the bottom of the screen, and then tap on "Scan"
Once you're in the "scan" screen select your desired hotspot, and enter your password when requested.?ÿ This will create a profile for that device.
If you have other devices that you need to connect, now's the time to do that, it'll save you some time in the field, not having to worry about going through the process later.
After your profiles are created its best to just reset your devices and once they are back on you should be connected.
?ÿ
Once you have started using the Laird Connection Manager, it appears that you can no longer use the native Microsoft WiFi manager, so, all new networks will need to be added through Laird.
?ÿ
I hope this helps.
