Hi All,
?ÿ
I have been lurking and found an excellent guide to replace the screen on the TSC2. My keypad has almost gone, I have a replacement PCB and a new rubber keypad from Kargo Tech. The unit is no longer supported, but at a replacement cost of ?3000 or ?150 for the parts I thought I would DIY first.
?ÿ
I have disassembled the unit following the guide, and can access and have unplugged the ribbon cable on the rear of the unit for the keyboard.
?ÿ
I don't see how the keypad is removed. I assume now, that it is removed from the front as the metal internal looks to be bonded to the yellow plastic casing.
?ÿ
I didn't want to start picking at the keypad surround if I am missing something obvious.
?ÿ
There is the TSC2 badge on the front, I thought perhaps a hidden screw under there might be a starter?
?ÿ
Thanks for any help. Karl
Just thought I??d update as I figured it out myself.?ÿ
Gently pry from the outside edge of the bezel until it lifts in one spot and then work round, I used a small knife to get under and a small screwdriver to then lever from the inside outwards (so the driver rests on the plastic case not the keypad). Ended up snapping about 6 of the 20 pins, just be gentle but luck of the draw with their age and the material.

The keypad PCB is just stuck down, but stuck very well. I used a hairdryer on low, gently again! Then levered up under one corner using a knife and then a plastic implement (I used a push bike tyre lever). The PCB will bend but is a lot stronger than I expected.
Make sure you have disconnected the ribbon cable internally first before removing the PCB. You can probably do this without disturbing the screws holding the motherboard down (I removed mine as I was following the screen replacement guide), there is plenty of ribbon connecting the keyboard and the battery.?ÿ
