Hello,?ÿ

I have a TSC2 and a 5800 receiver.?ÿ First off, the data collector clock keeps defaulting back to 1999.?ÿ I change it, and its fine until I try to run a fast static observation, then it resets the clock back to 1999.?ÿ?ÿ

Does this effect the RINEX data??ÿ I tried to submit a file to OPUS and it comes back with an error about logging rate or offset epochs.?ÿ?ÿ

Why does the receiver change my data collector time?

(runs RTK like a champ dialing in to the VRN)

Thanks a million.

Never had this happen with our units, do they only reset time when connected to the 5800?

make sure your 5800 has the latest firmware available.

check Trimble.com

succes!

It's the TSC2s internal battery, it's dead.  I'm working with 3 with the same issue, I don't believe they are supported, therefore, never replaceable.

Well it charges fine, says the internal's at 100%.  It runs my total station as well as RTK no problems at all.  It will keep the time until I hook up for a static observation than it says so wait while the clock resets.  It goes back to 1999 and allows you to start the base.  I really don't care a whole lot what date it is saying it is, but the receiver file will not process through OPUS.  Wrong GPS Week is my guess, and I'm thinking the clock this is related.

The 5800 is my only receiver, so I'm not sure.  It's definietly the receiver that resets the DC clock though.  I just want to be able to process the .T01 files.  Thanks.

It's the GPS unit firmware/software, not the TSC2. Let me know if you got this corrected up. I spoke with Trimble and the 5800 is no longer supported so they aren't sure anything can be done. They told me they could try, for $$$, but no guarantee. I tried to update the firmware myself but because the warranty is expired it won't let me upload any updates to the unit. You are probably getting bad GPS week headers too, which is being created by the old firmware. The unit will function doing RTK work, but not static work.

?ÿ

Let me know if you had any success in updating your reciever.
