Hello

I have a Trimble total station total station and on target constantly locked in safety vests. This interferes with the measurement. I often use mini prisms, and then problems occur.

What should I do?

When I was using a robot for everything I did, (pre gps), I took the reflective tape off of the front of the vest.

Use a 360 prism and target selector. Turning your vest inside out or altering it is an OSHA violation

I had my Topcon do this to me as well. Topcon doesn't use active targets, so you have to be creative. Best thing I've found is keeping the rod height above your head.

I seriously doubt that I have ever worked a day in my life when I was 100% OSHA compliant.

The gray retro-reflective stripes attract edm camera less than the yellow plastic style. Running a 6.5 rod helps as well.

What model of Trimble robotic total station are you operating? Some of them are not compatible with the MT100 ect. (Active tracking targets) However, if it does have the capacity, it is a great tool. You can check the serial number from the "My Trimble Protected" website, and it should list all the details for your specific instrument.
