Anything SPS is made for the construction market and is made to use with SPS software. It may or may not work with Trimble Access. For surveying you want the S6.
Ok if so how difficult is to active it to work with Trimble Access?

As far as I can tell it's not supported in Access.

Not sure about a 730 but I have used Access with a 930 before with no problems. I did buy the construction option for the controller.

For older versions of Access (and Survey Controller) the construction unlock code was required to be bought. It was not expensive. Newer versions of Access (since approx 2014?) work without the unlock code.
There are some differences in the hardware. Vision and finelock are not options on the SPS730.
The SPS730 has synchronised angles and distances as required for machine control.
I have got a feeling that there is a more important difference that I can't remember.
I have seen plenty of them in use with Access/SC (they are often slightly cheaper).
Just got an SPS730 recently and got a hold of Access which seems to work a treat with the jigger. I'd say that squowse is right, I don't think that Vision is available, not sure about fine lock.
I find the vision feature of the S6 really useful, I use everyday and would miss it if it wasn't there.
I am sure that I am MUCH more productive for having it.
It alone would make an S series jigger worthwhile for me.

Jim,
Can you explain a little, we work with the onder S6 without Vision.
In what situations is it a big advantage.
Documenting shots?
Search after lost target?

That's the one - bring it back quickly with the joystick, jump to vision and tap the screen exactly where you want it pointing.
Also handy for checking that the target is not obstructed
