OK so I have decided on TBC for my post-processing campaigns. I need to add an antenna model (Magellan NAP100 / Promark 3). Has anything been improved recently for defining models through the antenna.ini file or is it pretty much the same routine as in TGO?

Any thoughts, hints or help is appreciated...

Thanks,

Matt

Are you using Magellan Receivers too? What drove the decision to go to TBC for post processing, and not GNSS Solutions?

And you stir old memories of my short stint at Vierbicher nearly two decades ago.....

Same deal, you have to create a PCT file for your antenna and create a corresponding entry in antenna.ini.

Note that v2.70 is due out in April, and is reportedly going to use the ANTEX format, at least for the absolute calibration files.

Mark,

I have 10 years worth of TGO projects, which was the main reason, price was another consideration. I don't do a lot of static work anymore. I really like TOPCON Tools, but is price prohibitive at this point. I went with TBC standard (L1 only) for $495. The post-processing I do is mainly for PLSS corner projects where I have short baselines and lots of time to observe.

I started out with three Trimble 4600LS units back in 2001 and stuck with TGO as I upgraded to TOPCON Hipers in 2007 as it was paid for, I was professional trained and had been using it for about 8 years ay that point. The Promark is being added as a third static unit and also for it's other functionality such as stop and go kinematic and sub-meter.

I was with VAI from fall of 2008 until the fall of 2001, when I went on my own.

Thanks Jim,

I am going to dig into this this weekend and observe a baseline and some control next week to verify and tweak.

I hope you meant 2011, so you didn't go backwards 😉
