I'm about to make a purchase of a new Trimble S5 robotic instrument but I am considering purchasing a Trimble active track prism with it. I don't like the mt1000 prism because I feel it is just too heavy. I have used a S6 with a standard 360 prism the past 10 years. Usually 4 days my jobs are just topo, one day a week I'm on a construction site.
It has been really hard to try to find any reviews on a trimble active track prism.
Can anyone share their opinions with me?
Absolutely love the active tracking - great on building sites with lots of hi-viz reflective vests...
Have no problem re weight of the MT1000 - but it is really designed for topo not set-out
When it comes to setting a nail in the peg I prefer to switch to one of these

The AT360 is lighter.
I totally ageren with Jim,
MT1000 is great for TOPO, weight is not aan issue for us.
Never tried the new 360?§
Christof.
An active mini prism would be great.
if you are thinking about a solo operation, then you will need a prism that the S6 will track for all applications.
There's a lot of good information in an older thread (2015?). Search for Trimble AT360 Activetrack target. Longtime reader. New poster so can't share direct link.
Thanks
