Are you selecting the correct file format from the lower window? This is a must, and sometimes this has to be selected before you path to the csv and then after it loads. You will also get a preview of the file in the lower window.?ÿ

It could be a sharing violation. Make sure the .csv file is closed before you try to import it.

I convert to a field book file using the survey link.?ÿ If you type in "startsurveylink" at the command line that should pop up with a lot of different ways to convert files.

After selecting the file there is a list of choices in the middle window:

delete

Yours doesn't have the list of choices, not sure what is up with that.

Assuming you are exporting the typical PNEZD format:

Trimble supports alphanumeric point IDs. Civil 3D only supports numbers. If Civil3D cannot find a point file format it usually means you have one or more points coming out of Access that contain a non-numeric character in the Point ID field.

You will need to make sure the Point ID field in your CSV contains only numbers - no letters or special characters.

Mine does that sometimes as well.?ÿ Try changing the suffix .csv to .txt and see if that works.

Alternately you may open the csv in a text editor like notepad and save it as a text file

I can't find any difference in the makeup of the files but opening csv in Excel and performing a 'save as' .txt will also fix it

I'm not sure why it does that but my solution to that problem is to simply export as txt by changing the suffix in Access and skip all of the hassle.

If you are setup to store vector info, the first line of the exported csv may contain an alphanumeric descriptor for the "point" field.?ÿ C3D will not accept this so you need to edit the csv to remove or rename the line identifying the origin of the vector before importing.

Also, if you don't like exporting a csv, you can just change the extension to ".txt" before exporting.?ÿ You will still have to edit the vector source but the points will be arranged from lowest number to highest instead of the order in which they were shot.?ÿ

Make sure there is no header as the first line of your .csv as well.
