So our new (8 months old) Spectra Ranger 3 with Survey Pro on it just decided to lock the crew out. won't even let them enter a pin code, which we never set, so my crew is dead in the water with 1400 feet left to topo in a horse farm 4 hours away. They do have the Trimble R8 and i'm trying to configure the GPS data collector that has Access on it to see our Leica gun, but I can't seem to get Access to see the gun. I have the baudrate, and parity matching. Is the 9 pin adaptor on the cable to the gun the problem? Does it like USB? We use Leica TCR802's. I have the same setup in the office that they have in the field, so if I can get mine working, I can walk them through it. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Leica and Trimble do not play well together.... all of the drivers in Access were written for old instrument models and pretty much all expect the data to be in the old Leica format. Does the instrument have settings for how the data is output? I can't remember what they called the old format - GRI or something like that.

I would try 2400 baud, even parity, and set the update rate to Never.

The same cable that works with the Survey Pro collector will work with Access, the issue is establishing comms.
