You guys are weird...

As kids, we were routinely warned not to try to pull off the seedpods on the catalpa trees. This was because you might poke out your eye in a flash when the pod finally released from the branch. That threat seemed very, very possible so we did not pull on them.

If the leaves looked like catalpa leaves, but were much bigger, it could be a paulonia tree. Same family but different species. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paulownia ]Paulonia
