I have a Topcon GPT-9005 robot that i have run with an FC-250 w/ RS-1 radio (Magnet Field) for years. The FC-250 has been glitchy (crashing) lately and has crashed and eaten the Magnet Field software and is now useless paper weight. I purchased a used FC-250 w/ RS-1 radio (Magnet Field) to continue using the robot i currently have. The problem i am having with the new (used) FC-250 is that whenever i get +/- 30' from the robot with the FC-250 i am losing connection to the robot.....can someone explain what setting i may need to check to see that the radio is talking to the robot? Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you are connected to the instrument via Bluetooth, as that range is 30ft.

Those Spreadspructrum radios are problematic. When I owned a GPT9000 I replaced those with SD1000 long range (1000ft) bluetooth cabled to instrument com port.

Do you just need one SD1000 plugged in to the instrument port, or do you need one on the FC250 as well?

Thanks,

?ÿ

@sjc1989

SD1000 has a battery that screws onto the device
