Hi guys,
Not sure if this has been addressed anywhere previously in a thread, but please help if you can.
I have two Topcon GPT series total stations (GPT3003LW and GPT3005W) and when both power up they start with this annoying clicking/tracking/repeat measurement mode. On the 3003 I just have to power it down and back on and it stops, on the 3005 it goes for a minute or two and then stops, but does a series of clicks every time you take a shot.
The only thing I see this achieve is to drain batteries far faster than is necessary.
Does anyone know how to disable this? I've jumped around in the settings and have tried things like setting number of measurements to 1 etc and hasn't helped.
Hope someone has crossed this bridge before, and can help me kill the click!!!
While measuring press F2 and select "C" for course measurement. This should give you one measurement per shot.
The clicking noise is part of the EDM and defaults to 3 minutes from power on or last shot taken. To change the default, you should look into the following procedure:
- Hold the F2 key down and power up the total station
- Press F2 Mode Set
- Scroll to page 4/5, EDM off time
- Set the time that you wish (I leave mine to default of 3 minutes)
- Power off the total station
The next time you power on the instrument, the setting that you keyed in will be default.
There are bunch of settings that you can change (example, if you prefer hPa to inHg for setting your pressure value), this is all done through the same process as above, as you will figure it out easily once you browse through the options.
