from Jeffrey Ament. Someone wants me to put a photo target in his driveway.
this should be fun......
Generally an asphalt driveway and a concrete sidewalk apron make a sufficiently visible target for photos. A plus is that also generally within a public right of way.
The biggest problem is finding the owners at home to ask. Most are receptive to your occupying and making measurements but to actually lay out a target I would expect a negative response.
If you are doing topo for a big box up against the residential area, one might anticipate citizens exercizing Second Amendment rights.

Why bother ?
Usually, target locations are a bit flexible. Check with the aerial people and find alternatives.
Sell him on the 8 ball style or some other unique design.
Hey Dude, I want to paint an 8 ball in your driveway.
I had to put(paint) 6 ft targets once in a moderate size city once.
When I I was finished, I talked to the city engineer and told him the locations. I told him that I put one on the entrance to a d/w at the 'country club'.
He told me the city did not have a 'country club'. I showed him the location on my map and he told me that it was a private residence of a NBA center.
It sure looked like a country club to me.

Locate the target elsewhere.

Don't let him hit you with his purse!
Can't you just locate something photo-identifiable like where the driveway meets the asphalt?

His partner is Pandora Andre-Beatty. If he hits you with a purse it is probably hers.
If you get a chance to talk to him tell him "Ten" changed your buddy Snoop's life. One of the greatest rock albums of all time in my opinion.

Agreed! Still listen to it to this day and I've probably bought it on tape and CD more than once and finally through itunes.

They released a "Ten Redux" last year with the original CD remastered. But the gems are the alternate mixes of each of the original songs from the disk. Also they included a bunch of B-sides and unreleased material.
That's the guy-
have only been able to talk w/ a groundsperson- and they wont commit and we haven't gotten a name for anyone who can. Might photo id a point if one is available.
This is a wing point on the last panel of this flight line. It's low level- so we're only putting out 4 foot tgts. There is a chance of moving it a small amt to the west, but then it gets into scrub timber.
Had one land owner last week where the guy signs off, then his wife came out on the 4-wheeler and told the crew that he didn't have permission to sign. crew had a tough time keeping a straight face.
I got family in Hamilton. Cantrell. Don't know where they are in the valley and not even sure how much ranch they have. John Denver used to be a neighbor long before he attained room tempature.
There's a John and Margaret Cantrell with a 51 acre place near Corvallis- 6 Miles N. Hamilton.
Well, we call her Aunt Pat, but her first name might actually be Margaret as that was my grandmothers name.
Wellllll- it turns out...
that this individual does not think highly of the bridge project and would rather we didn't build it......this is a paraphrase of his conversation with the crew, so we put it in at a not-so-convenient location...
oh well, the boys could use the hike....
