Yep both of the new ones are at the top.
This one is near the bottom where it should be.

It's normal chronology on my work PC, but at the top when I view on my Android phone.
The post ordering when sent from Tapatalk ihas been the subject of a thread under Site Issues.
Something else that goes wrong, is when a surveyor sets a base nail, on a cute nice little hilltop... and does not realize that there is already one there... and returns in a month or so, and FINDS the wrong nail... and does not CHECK another point to SEE if things are ok....
The same thing can happen though with traverse nails... at or near intersections, where you have long sight distances, and are using total stations.
About a yr ago, I SAW another surveyor's base, set up about 10' from where I had one set. Next time I occupied that base, I shot his nail too, so that I'd have record of what was going on out there. In a hunnerd years, all the bald hiltops will have nails in them... especially the ones easy to get to, near industrialized areas!
It's a good idea to sweep the area with Mr Schonstedt, before setting a nail.
If you find 3 already there, pick one, and don't set a 4th!. Then make a sketch in the field book, of the nails, and add this to the cad drawing... for later!

There are two other things you can do to head off the problem of coming back and finding another nail close to yours. You could put an ID washer under it so you know which one is yours. You can record ties in your field book to the fence posts, tree, curb, or whatever is around. Then if no tornado clears the land (as mentioned in another current thread) you can verify it's yours and hasn't been moved.
Yes or when using a TS it's imperative to check BS distance. Sometimes I'll look in the DC to make sure the BS distance was checked to keep people on their toes
