I have a client (private individual) that I've been trying to schedule in for a couple of weeks. He has a dairy operation...I'll just call it a "family farm".

After the boundary work I went back to the house to let him know all the gates were shut and I would be back to get some pins set after I had a chance to look at everything.

I left there with a couple of gallons of whole milk (cream intact), a couple of pints of cream, two dozen eggs, a sack of spring veggies and a pint of honey from his hives...

The only thing that would have made it a perfect day would have been a wild berry patch. We found the patch, but it's too early in the year. He gave me a "rain check".

Some days are really worth the effort!

Awesome.. I grew up on real milk, eggs and butter. My dad used the back road trip to the dairy to teach us all how to drive, so we were good at that by about 14 or so. haha. Sounds like a great haul.

It wasn't something that I could share but I just had a day of quail hunting a few weeks ago courtesy of a client. The weather was good and he had some good dogs to follow. The quail ate good too.

Over on the left coast, quail are dropping eggs now and we pretty much leave them alone. Guess things are different in the land of long leaf pines?

These were all pen raised birds. Season on wild birds went out in January. Pen raised birds aren't quite as much fun as wild, but they eat just as well.
