just got out of a meeting with bosses, and coworkers. one coworker who ordinarily has a parallel thought process to mine just became disagreeable to much of what i assert. this was a long with the boss. long story short, unexpected outcome, and not a good resolution.

i am going to have a hard time with this one. my apologies for the vent.

Sounds like the coworker decided he needed to be a lot closer to the boss today. Perhaps he has been feeling insecure.

Nahhhhhhhh! He's just a jerk.

well, if that's a vent, don't worry about apologizing. That seemed quite social. A vent is when you use lots of *(&^#*&^$$%*&^ and such. I hope whatever happens works out well. good luck.

i'm keeping that internal, the best i can. this is all about technical and policy issues. it's the technical material i feel strongly about

Sometime it be's thatta way, just remember the boss makes decisions based on the big picture, and compromise is just part of the equation.

Nobody I work with right now does anything the way I would, but as a sub I have to get in their world.

Well....it was just a vent, so maybe you don't need comments. (but on the other hand, you did post it on a public board).

I think your being offended has everything to do with the subject matter and the context.

If the "management" you speak of is the pls that stamps your work, there is a bit of compromising you need to do. The PLS needs to be able to trust that you know his methods and philosophies when it comes to boundaries if he is going to stamp your work without micromanaging everything you do. I would think there is room for philosophical discussion, but in that realm, your coworker should be able to state their opinion as well.

I also understand that your situation may have nothing to do with the above. If you coworker agrees with you most of the time, and then expresses the exact opposite side in front of the boss, I wouldn't trust that coworker any farther than I could throw him.
