LandXML is merely a format for data and the LandXML data structure(s) is (are) well documented and publicly available and have been for years. In fact, there is even a LandXML File Validator that allows anyone to check if the LandXML file they've produced (or have been given) conforms to the LandXML specification. If you're producing a LandXML file that validates properly but isn't showing the expected results in a receiving application, I'd say it is highly likely the receiving application is not parsing the data correctly. On the flip-side, if you're producing a LandXML file that doesn't validate, you'd want to contact your technology provider and make them aware of the problem(s). My å¢2...
I for one would just like to thank Ladd for monitoring this board! With just a few large monopolies producing our software and hardware it is sure nice to have one of the "small, family owned" companies around still to monitor our needs. Some of the old ones that come to mind were SMI, DEZIGN, BOSTON HARBOR, ASHECH...... hopefully Carlson will be around for years to come. On second thought, if Trimble bought Carlson then maybe Carlson could get the Trimble secrete codes to run their hardware and we would actually have a productive product. At least for a couple of years until Trimble engineers got involved (like it did with tds) my 2 cents, Jp
I didn't know about the validator. That information alone is highly valuable. Thanks.
I also agree that support from Carlson is excellent.
The extreme maintenance fees (AutoCAD) is only going to have people jump off that ship.
Don't give Trimble any ideas. I've been Trembled enough.

 You're very welcome. I'd like to thank Wendell for providing a forum where ideas and information can be distributed, discussed and even debated for the good of the profession.
