You should use (in my opinion) the term disk unless you can determine that it is a cap of sorts. You are just stating what you see. The person that set the monument may have a more specific description of what they set because they saw and installed the whole thing. The finder will probably not be able to identify it to the same detail (such as not knowing the length of the rod or pipe for instance).
