Hello all,

Possibly purchasing a new GPS network rover (finally)and looking heavily at the Carlson "Super G" Tablet or the Carlson Surveyor+.

I personally like the Surveyor+ with the alphanumeric buttons as I am able to quickly enter in code and point descriptions with both thumbs at the same time as apposed to using a stylus to click letters on a tablet screen. I also like the durability of the Surveyor+ and am less worried about the screen getting smashed...

The Super G has three main pros in my opinion; much faster and runs Windows 7, a ton of storage (64gb), and I believe to be better suited to adapting to future technology.

Anyone have opinions on a tablet versus a traditional "button" data collector?

THANKS!

when it is snowing/raining or one one is getting thought the willows on daily basis and your gloves are always wet and dirty/sandy I would choose TSC2-like data collector (do not know how carlson datacollector looks like) - a compact rugged machine with full alphanumeric keyboard

If I were to survey properties in the city, wearing running shoes and shorts,on daily basis, I would probably choose tablet.
