I don't think the 'Party Chief' vests are what they used to be. I've had 2 but will be going back to Seco for my next vest, if not sooner. They don't seem to have even basic quality control or product consistency. Not that I'm shocked, but they are not made in the North Americal anymore either.

Thanks all. I will check some of these sites out. I would agree that most vests today don’t last to long for sure . Of course I am not out a lot now days so most definitely will not be used every day like my old one was. I just like buying something that last. I don’t mind spending a little extra but some of the vest now days run $100 plus and are just cheesy made. I know the focus is on safety more than functional and durable.

I did not see Forestry Supply mentioned.

Our little post office needs all the business it can get to keep it open. The monthly ULINE catalog and a wild collection of other "junk" mail keeps my carrier loaded down. Actually, her pickup is loaded down. My mailbox is one of the largest that fit on a common post. We receive mail every mail day.

I carry an ANSI-complaint vest in the truck just in case I find myself on a jobsite that requires such, but I greatly prefer the orange Filson Cruiser vest. The bad news is that Filson doesn't make the Cruiser anymore; the good news is that I bought several of them some years back, so I should have enough to finish out my career.

Yeah we have to have ANSI vest for a number of jobs dot and plants. Every project has different requirements. We have one now we have to get the sleeved vest which we don’t have. I am all about safety but I swear sometimes I think it distracts the drivers more than no vest. Last week we were set up along a road. I am not kidding we had our signs up. Other people had there signs up one of which we had to lay down for a few shots as it was pretty close to gun and we couldn’t get a shot above it. I was standing between edge of road and tripod crew chief was on opposite side finishing his field book as i was loaded for bear about to play frogger. Darn lady came right off the road at me i jumped and knocked my guy off the instrument case she missed me and tripod by inches . Here i was in orange vest hat lathe bag standing 10 foot from a safety sign. I told my gut take me back to the country at least the snakes coyotes and other critters give you a sporting chance lol.

Ever heard of 'Target Fixation'

Sometimes I swear the day-glo just gives them something to aim for!

It is exactly what why the fuzzs' lights (and my truck) set to a somewhat random flash pattern.

Ugh, that vest looks so nasty it should probably have been burned a decade ago (probably wouldn't burn if a match was put to it anyway😄) I tell all the guys I work with to throw that trash away and get a new vest but they resist like a dog with a bone.

To all the surveyors out there... stop looking like a hobo and start looking like someone worth what your company is charging for your services ! 😎

While I agree that vests should be replaced before they get to looking ratty, the expense should not be left to the employee.
