Hi, can any body help me?? Im new to SurvCe I had Survey Pro before and im trying to stake a line past 2 points I wanto continue that line 50ft or more , with survey pro the lines go past the points on ether direction but with survce the lines stop at the points how can I extend them or can I stake the line with out extending? ?
Thanks.

Use station and offset and enter a negative (-) station...

Thanks Matt so to go ether direction I go + or - and I can still stake the line in between, example if I go station +50 I can still shoot at 40ft or 35ft etc or do I have to set the station +40 or station +35
couldn't you just point and direction another point out on the line as far as you need to go and stake the line using the new point? Quick and dirty solution but should work wthin software's constraints.
Ok Thanks Mark
If you are in "stake line or arc" menu, define your line, and instead of choosing the "station/offset" tab at the top, choose "point on line".it will keep you on line past the two points that defined the line, and on the bottom of the screen when you are staking out, it will tell you what station you are at. Just be careful to choose "intersect to line" instead of "perpendicular to line", and make sure the offset is set to "0". All of these other suggestions work well too, but I like this one if I don't want to comp a bunch of stations, or don't know how far I want to go until I get there.
Thanks Levi Whitten so if I stake 2 points and choose "Find Perpendicular to Line" off set "0" this will stake my line past my points as far as I want? Correct?
You want to choose "find intersect to line". The only time I use perpendicular is when I'm offsetting the line at specific stations. But YES, make sure every time you go into the program the offset is 0 . I've had problems with the software holding the last offset I used. Even days later.
The best part about this feature is it telling you, as your staking, what station you are at. Relative to the first point you entered when defining your line. So if you are using a robot or a rover, you are continually being updated with station numbers. Also, if the two points defining a line are elevated, the program will run the slope for you, and give you a cut/fill wherever you are on the line.
Thanks Levi Whitten Im a steel erector-surveyor i guess I can call my self that haha, so most of my work is staking grid lines im kinda new to SurvCe im glad I found this forum and Thanks to guys like you that like to help out us with less experience.
Thanks.

I've found Find Perpendicular to Line with a 0 offset more useful when in the open. With Find Intersect to Line you only get an in or out distance to the line, which works great when the gun has a narrowly-restricted field of view, but in the open it's needlessly limiting. Using Perpendicular to Line with a 0 offset allows you to move anywhere that's convenient and find line. I've been using it a lot lately setting line ties (sometimes called tangent-over ties) for centerline monuments to be upgraded. It lets me range along the edge of pavement until I catch line, regardless of the angle between the EP and the desired line.
There is a check box in the settings that allow you to extend stations past the design limits. If this is not checked, it will not allow you to stake to a specific negative station, nor stake to a station beyond the end of the design.
Staking to line, you will always see the information regarding the relationship of your shot to the line, and what station you are at, even if it is negative.
