looks like you're enjoying the fine weather/ extended field season.... your recovery rates have ben pretty good lately
missing only one I really need:-@
Have to gulp,,,,,,,,,,,,,prorate it,,,,,,,,yikes!!!!
I would much rather put in a section corner based on whatever local control I could find (like local property corner pins if there are any or even property line fences) that to do some blasted proration. I know you know this but stupid proration is definitely the very last resort.
yes, so would I, but this country is empty, no ownership tied to the section corner, no fences, no anything, just a busy cow route to a spring, no doubt the monument has been kicked out and stomped to rubble (did find some of that)
I'll have to take your word on the markings. I can't really see any without knowing where to look.
Someone back in the RPLS.com days used post pictures of their found monuments. He did a very good job with the documentation....I want to say it was Mr. Paulk?
He carried around a small chalk board. The markings were highlighted with chalk so they could be read easier.
Written on the chalk board (which was propped up along side the monument), was the location, description of monument/markings, originating surveyor, date set/fnd....ect. I want to say he even wrote down the approx. lat/long.
Kind of old school in a good way. Really complemented the field notes I'm sure.
Just saying a little chalk would help with the markings.
it is a clear 1/4 for this country, some markings out here are more faded than this one.
I don't like adding anything to the stone, calking or painting, if it can't be seen, well....................
