We are looking at the basic module of Spectra Precision Survey Office. We got a new Ranger 3 L data collector and need to use our feature and attribute file to collect storm water data. The old files were created in ForeSight DXM and had a .fea file extension running on a Ranger 200 C with Survey Pro 3.83. The new one is running Survey Pro 5.1.0. Features and attribute files now have a .fxl file extension. We are told Spectra Precision Survey Office is the only software that can create the .fxl files. We downloaded the demo to see if it would work. You can look but not try this Trimble product. I need to know if I can create the fxl file with the basic module before we pay $500 (non refundable). Will the basic module reduce and adjust Total Station files? Anything you can tell me would be a great help.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

The unlicensed version will not create .fxl files. You need the standard version to do this.

The unlicensed version will let you import and edit total station data, but it will not do a traverse adjustement on it. For that you need the FULL version...+/- $2600

Trimble Business Center will also create the .fxl files, but the restrictions on what it will or will not do and the cost of the versions is similar to SPSO.

Both are good software packages.
