Just took this from my front porch with my cell phone looking through our total station with the solar filter.

Thanks. Couldn't see anything from since it had gone behind some trees and was somewhat cloudy here.

Thanks. We could not see it here because of the clouds.

CBS News said those dark spots were sun spots.

I took this about 45 minutes ago. Pocket snappy through a solar filter. Not as nice as your pic, Shawn.

I tried to take a few like that. Just couldn't get any cooperation from my cell phone camera. It did pretty good looking through the lens of the instrument though.

Well look close. I was true to surveying and made sure that the instrument cross hairs were in the sun. 🙂
