I'm having an issue with my static collection.

Sunday, 3/17 I used the unit in static mode to collect data on a monument we set at the Boston Common.

I turned on the unit, let it run it's course until it was ready then I reset the instrument to factory settings (hold theon button down until it tells you it's resetting) then turned it off and on again at 10:50AM.

At 3:10PM I swtiched it off, the battery was still more than half strength so I figured all is well.

Whe I submitted to OPUS for inclusion in their data base I received a note back that 4 hours is required for a submission. I thought I had almot 4.5 hours....

When I look at the file that is returned from OPUS it's a pretty ggod solution but only shows at start at 14:51:00 and Stop at 18:10:00, only 3 hours and 20 minutes...
Where's my extra hour?

Another concern that I have is that Spectrum or Sokkia planning seem to download differing files on occasion. In other words, I may end up with a 2140KB PDC file, or a 840KB PDC file....

Any clues??

Thanks,
Don

PS I have actually downliading a number of time and it appears that the 3:20 time is consistent, ot at least I've received that answer three times.

Don, I've had similar problems with the base off and on but not identical to yours. My temporary solution has been to configure the rover as base and the base as rover.

I don't follow why you do the factory reset, I usually load the static collection powerup configuration before leaving the office.

Maybe the memory card was full? I suppose you could try reloading the receiver's firmware + delete all the static files on the card and reformat the card.
