A few months ago I did a metric job for an archeologist. Since then, if the Explorer locks up and needs to reboot (3 times so far), the job that was started in feet becomes metric. Last time I created a new job using the old job as a control file. That worked OK, I'll have to paste the 2 raw files together. Probably I should reinstall ServCE. Any other ideas?

Larry-

It's too bad the French Revolution did not apply the guillotine to Delambre and Mechain.

On a repeatable measurement basis, metric units are impractical for cadastral surveying purposes as two places of decimal is too crude and three, too fine.

From: http://lamar.colostate.edu/~hillger/origin.html

"It was later found that Delambre and Mechain had not properly accounted for the earth's flattening in correcting for oblateness"

Merely decimalize the unity itself and get on with it.

I've seen more costly misques on metric projects in Ontario than in the many hundred years previous.

And now on a related matter, I understand the Z component of X/Y/Z Coords. is being rejigged across North America!

Chains as a unit were so good to quickly determine areas !

Ludditely yours,

Derek
