I'm a surveyor:
Hello

Property Owner:
Hi, I need a survey
I have a property line dispute

Surveyor:
Oh, how so?

Owner:
I built a garage and neighbor says it's over the line.
I don't so.

Surveyor:
Did you have a survey done when you bought the property?

Owner:
No- The property is in a well established area.

Surveyor:
If you built a garage, how did you know where to build it?

Owner:
I measured down from the street

Surveyor:
OK, from what point and how did you know the angles of the lines?

Owner:
I measured both ways.
Now the city is involved.
Oh, I didn't get a permit either.

Surveyor:
OK, I'll look into this and research it.
I'll e-mail you an estimate.

Well, this "is" the kind of stuff that comes out of the "cracks" when times are not so good. It's best to show some diplomacy and move forward......we'll be out of this chit one day....:-D

Hee hee hee hee hee hee. No survey. No permit. Mr. Potential Client likes to avoid anything he possibly can. This probably includes paying surveyors and other trouble makers.

Email:

Dear sir:

We estimate the cost to do your survey to be $x,xxx.xx with 3/4 or X,xxx.xx due upon commencement of work and the remainder due upon delivery of all deliverables.

Thank you,

I agree. Part of the money up front and the rest when he picks up the plat. By the way, how does his neighbor know where the line is?
