I have not been able to get my fast static observations back on line since the untimely demise of the TGO post-processing capabilty.

I would appreciate straight forward and step by step instructions for the use of RinexDates.

Many thanks in advance,

Pat Schulte, PLS

Pat
Take your DAT files and convert them to Rinex. Select your rinex files in RinexDates and click process. The edited files will be placed in the same directory as the original rinex files with a prefeix of e_. Import the edited files into TGO and process. Be sure to get RinexDates ver 1.3

If you have any problems shot me an email.

John

Hi Pat,

I have only worked with the newer Trimble receivers and the TSCe & TSC2 with survyecontroller and/or Trimble Access. If you need info on the older equipment then I'm sure John Minor will chime in ...

step 1. prepare your system.

You have to convert your gps files to Rinex files. I convert my Trimble dat files with the Trimble convert to Rinex utility. See download on the RinexDates page here on this board.
Make sure your TGO is up to date to work with these Rinex files. You'll have to work with TGO 1.63 and install the Rinex patch to work with the Rinex 2.10 or 2.11 file format. (Download for the patch also on the RinexDates page)
If you don't have TGO 1.63 but a TGO 1.60 then the update is free.

Download Update TGO from 1.60 => 1.63

step 2. transfer your data to your pc.
us Trimble data transfer, or even do it in TGO as usual but don't process the baselines.
One way or another you'll find your dat files with the gps-data.

step 3. run to Convert to Rinex utility to convert your dat files to rinex. you can use all the default. Check where the new files will be stored. There are however other utilities to convert to Rinex, Teqc is one of them. the result is for each dat file two rinex files (observation .??o and navigation .??n files)

step 4. run RinexDates.
Tap the Open button to navigate to your Rinex files, you can select multiple files by holding the control key. You have to select both file types (obs & nov) but the program is configured this way.
You'll have a preview of the data in the Rinex files, you can't change this data.
Tap the Process button to reset the dates in the files.
the new files are written in the same directory as the old but have a prefix e_ before the old name.

step 5. Start a new TGO project and import the edited Rinex files ...
from here the processing should be as before.
If you want your baseline reports to have the correct date you have to reset this manual in the html report ... I'll look to change it with the program.

feel free to email me if you have more questions, or send me your files if you have problems with them.

Chr.
