Hi, i am Polycarp from Nigeria. what are the duties of a surveyor in residential layout.

Hi Polycarp.

Not sure at what level you are looking for. The crews are composed typically of a Party Chief and 1 or 2 assistants called chainmen/Instrumentman. Duties often include all utility & roadway layout, lot grading, home layout. Finally when the subdivision is complete it is monumented for property lines and street centerlines. Many times there are extra services when the geologist discover something that requires a topographical or location survey. That is a rough description.
