Occasionally I will find a point of interest on a survey. It might be a grave site of historical interest, an interesting or unusual land or natural feature, or just something that I think might be of local interest. It would be nice to report the location along with a short description to a publicly accessible document or internet site.
Does anyone know of such a site or sites?
On a related thought; does NSPS keep a record or index of their “Final Point” names and locations?
Hi Steve
It's not what you're looking for, but this is the nearest thing here in the UK and Ireland with location and name based search:
A quick Google search doesn't show up an equivalent in the US, apart from the Degree Confluence Project, but that's not what your looking for either!
Simply mention it in your next Tweet to the Pope Emeritus. Apparently that will notify about three billion people immediately.
I did that with google earth for awhie. But then one of my photoand descriptions which was viewed by alot of people was bumped out by some other more prolific professional photograher. I did not think that hus photo was better than mine.
I also know of a gravesite that is in a paved street in this area. It is marked. Quite bizarre. I posted it to google earth and it was never accepted.
A site I have found interesting is Roadside America ( http://www.roadsideamerica.com/ )
One can search for the unusual by state/ city etc which users have posted.
