@chris-bouffard I'm fine with your math, but the person who developed the 1975 to now numbers is on crack.
My parents bought a new house in 66 for 18k. I live in a slightly smaller house with fewer amenities that would sell for 500k at the drop of a hat. Very similar communities. My first big city apartment ran $175 a month in the early 80s. The same apartment is $1800 now. My 'early 80s Ford was 7700 new. The same truck now is over 45k. Our groceries cost double to feed two what they did ten years ago feeding 5. Don't get me started on fuel.
