MathTeacher; very interesting. For the Feb. 6, 1896 page 21 they talk about the geodetic survey of Prussia. Of the 39 triangles only?ÿ2 triangles closed over 1 second of arc. They talk about distance measurement and mention several big names; the great French Physicist?ÿFizeau (Armand Hippolyte Fizeau) and?ÿ A.A. Michelson.
For the Vol. IX,#3 March 7, 1896 page 41 & 42?ÿI did a spot check on their math; They have some errors so please check to see if I am correct(?).
page 41 Log Tan. 7 deg 08m 44s = 9.0981732 (rounded to 7 places) they have; 9.0981686
Log Cos. 8-19-34 last place is 2 (they have 1)
Log Sin. 8-19-34 they have 9.1607928?ÿ?ÿshould be 9.1607900
Log Tan. 8-09-24 they have 9.1563406?ÿ?ÿshould be 9.1563379
Of course they have left off the?ÿ -10 behind the log of the trig. functions.
I have some more but must go get the mail and get ready for dinner.
