So Im using a Trimble R7 base with a Zephyr Geodetic and a Trimmark 3 Radio. The base station starts, and broadcasts a good signal. The rovers receive the radio link, but no rover will Initialize, and give a Fixed solution. I have tried an R8, and a 5700 rover, using Survey Controller. Ive tried every possible configuration, checked and rechecked everything. I used an older 5700 and a 4700 as base stations, and both the rovers fix immediately. It seems its the R8. Im in need of help...thanks in advance.
Do both base and rover use CMR+ format?.
may be R7 cold reboot?, you probably did that as well.
reboot all the receivers...
Sometimes if the base was not shut down properly the last time it was used, ,it will still think it is in it's old position and the rovers think they are where they are...and the two positions are too far apart to intialize...
Reboot...
Try a fresh clean job....see if it works then
Ive tried all of the above. Yes, on the CMR+ format. According to Survey Controller, the base station starts fine, no error. Same with the rovers. Im stumped. My boss swears it worked when he bought the stuff, but maybe there is something wrong with it??? Thanks for the help.

My first thought when I read this was a bad coordinate or the wrong coordinate system but if I remember correctly, Survey Controller gives an error message when that occurs.
Did you use the exact same project to start the other two receivers as bases and also to start your rover? Did you key-in your base position, upload it from an ASCII file, or hit the here key?
You could try restarting it in a fresh project with no projection, no datum and use the here key for your base position to see if the base and rover will connect. It would give you, or someone else, an idea about where to go from there.
I did all of the above, and got nothing. Im using one 5700 rover to output GGA NMEA, and I can never get RTK fix with the R7. In this mode, It doesn't even have a job, or any input that I can screw up, only output. The minute i use a 4700 or 5700 as the base station, it immediately goes to "fix" or "4" in the NMEA sentence. I think im just going to send it in, unless anyone knows some trick or random configuration im missing. Thanks for the help and ideas.

yes, i agree with your points. there are two reasons for fixing this.
1. you are trying to broadcast a position which is far away from its correct position. Use the here key to get the current coordinates as a base station and have a try;
2. Did you check the frequency in its configuration? is it matched with the ones on rover station and trimmark 3?
3. check the cables, are they connected without any problem?
4. change the receiver or controler, maybe one of them is the cause of this problem.
