Noticed the Clark County on the Cap so I googled Clark County LST 601 to see what I could find. Had some interesting things happen on that ship. I think the worst that happened to me was knocking the front teeth out of a sailor during a boxing match while heading south out of New York on our way to RVN, we went through the canal but did not stop until San Diego where we tore the bow door off of the Starboard side before we went in and the guy was able to get some medical attention. It was a month he went without any assistance other than from the corpsman we had on board. That guy did have some bad teeth but they were better than none, he did not carry a grudge but it bothered me.

The City allows the building setbacks to make wider sidewalks, but then gives the property owner rights under the sidewalk to extend basements into the street right-of-way.

Ever notice those purple glass squares? They are skylights for the basement. Ever notice the square metal plates that are actually two doors for an elevator that opens into the sidewalk for easy loading into the basement?

The property retains ownership to the property line, but I have only noticed them as "Private property, permission to pass over revocable at any time."
