Forgive me if anyone already posted this, but there is a firmware update for the Promark3 posted HERE.
This solved all of the initialization problems I was having with my unit.
Matt
Is there a locus processor out there, that does work with a USB port, instead of a serial port?
I have 6 locus units still.
Nate
Thank you, Matthew. If it had been posted, I missed it. I have a couple of ProMark3 receivers and that will be a great improvement. Cheers!
I believe the last two or three versions of GNSS Solutions also overcome the issue that many Promark3 users have experienced of files having inaccurate Julian dates. I have observed that on files that have sufficient time span to have logged a full cycle of the almanac, the post processing software seems to take the date from the file rather than the file extension.
If you are a Promark3 user and have not kept your software current, I would suggest you do so. Ashtech's ftp site at ftp.ashtech.com works very well now, something that could not always have been said of its predecessors.
It would even help you Nate because of the superior ability to filter problem data without sacrificing date you'd like to include in your processing. That is if installing it didn't kill your ability to download a Locus on the computer you put GNSS Solutions on.
