I observed some points for control last Friday. I am just now getting a chance to look at the data. I observed a total of 5 points. Three being new control points, and two being property corners to tie them in.
All appeared to have went well, except the first point occupation file with one of my Promark 3 units has afile size of 0kb. This is the first time I have ever had this happen. The second file collected with this unit appears to have collected fine and processed fine. The other Promark 3 and the two Hipers worked like a charm.
Any ideas?

P.S. I am set for the property line staking that I hope to be able to perform tomorrow, but I am more worried about if I am doing something wrong. I have collected numerous files with my Promarks before.

The 0k file could just be the unit inadvertently shutting down and the next file could actually be your first observation. If the next file is your second observation then you may have pushed the off button instead of the record button which would require a redo.
Take another look before you panic.

Thanks for the reply. For some reason, That one file did not record. I remember looking at the screen when I closed the file from the first point, and then moved the receiver to another point.
I had 21 data files on the card total, including the file in question. Graphically, the second file was in the correct place. I have no idea what happened. i still hade about 60 MB free on the card.
I downloaded both PM3 cards today, backed them up, reformated them, and ran a quick static session with them to make sure that they would collect data. They did.
I may set up the receivers tomorrow and let them run to tie in that last point, then again, maybe not. Just depends on how the day goes. I have a baseline to work off of, so I should be set. I will just turn in that last point with the robot, which I had planned on doing anyway.
