Hi all

I have several makes of prisms that i use with my leica robotic 1100. These all have different prism constants/offsets when being used with the 1100.

I notice in survpc you can change the prism being used but the only option you can enter is height of prism pole. How do you change the prism constant in survpc? I can't find it anywhere in the manual.

Thanks.

I think there is another thread on this topic, but for us using SurvCE and Trimble 5600 and Geodimeter 600 instruments, the Total Station Equipment setup on SurvCE does not have function for changing the prism constant - that needs to be done at the instrument keyboard. However Leica equipment setup on SurvCE does have dropdown menus for a prism types, and you can make new ones with new constants.

FWIW, I was in your situation years ago relying upon different equipment with different offsets and a constant PITA to check for blunders and it was the cause of many misclosures.

I would suggest that you choose the offset you prefer and to beg, buy and bargain to convert all your prisms to match.

Most every prism can be adapted to meet a desired offset by using spacers and extenders or adapting hardware to retrofit prisms you have to their targets for one constant for all fix.

good luck

Hi guys

Thankyou for the replies.

Yes it turns out for the leica 1100 it does give options for different constants which has got me out of trouble.

I was lucky with my trimble 5600 as it turned out the the family of prisms i use were the same offset but this isn't the same when i use with my 1100. I should look forget into this.
