I started a search for a quarter corner last fall. Four way fence corner about where I'd expect it to be. Lots of rocks and a big pile of rocks in the northwest quadrant. I dug up the old corner post which was 75% rotted away underground (juniper and old). I need to expand the excavation out a bit more. I got snowed out last fall so I went to continue today.
Well, when I drive up there is one of those big white sentry sheep dogs that live with the herds dead about 20 feet from my work area. The flies just swarmed all over the truck. So I decided the search can wait, didn't even open the truck door. If that original stone from 1872 is still there it will probably be there in a couple more weeks. There were so many big healthy flies they probably would have had me for lunch!
That's quite the excuse
Meanwhile, I'm still crunching numbers to finish up my taxes tomorrow. I actually believe I would prefer doing taxes to being infected with dead dog germs directly into my blood stream.
