I don't see that we can say he skipped the search, just from looking at his plat. Maybe he looked and there was nothing to be found.

But HC, say you looked and didn't find any evidence. Would you have then set those missing corners? He didn't, apparently thinking it unnecessary because they weren't corners of his client's property.

I would have most definitely set a center corner monument. Not doing so suggests what I said above. That that site was never visited, which is an abomination.

Also note that on the three lines with the jacked up bearings, the distances precisely match the called distance but the other lines are all different from the called distances. I think you are dealing with an incomplete plat.
