Theres a similarly named local park on what was once a mining camp worked by a group of freed slaves. It is now known as Negro Bar. That's not what the quads and other historical references of 100+ years ago call it.

I'm willing to bet that within my lifetime, it will be renamed after some popular local politician, civil rights leader, or crime victim.
