I'm at the TSPS Convention. Our old pal Shawn Billings just inducted to the hall of elected officers. He seems a bit homeless after leaving Javad. But he's loving life and loving our profession. You go, Shawn!!
Always enjoy his participation here.?ÿ Same with you, JB.

When did Shawn leave Javad? Wondering what he is doing now? Back in practice?
I was told Shawn had one foot on the Survey Horse, and one foot on the Javad Horse. Something had to give. Surveying was closer to home. Less travel. So, it won.

John,
I had a great time with you at TSPS. I really enjoyed your course on Saturday and enjoyed our conversations even more. You bring a lot to the profession. Maybe we can dredge up some of it here. I'd love to discuss some of your points more thoroughly. Your course is really needed in the profession. Thanks for bringing it.
Can't wait for our next meet-up.

To all,
Most phases of life have a beginning, middle, and end. I had the opportunity to enjoy all three with Javad. I still consider many of the people there to be dear friends.?ÿ
Shawn,
Please join in more often.?ÿ Is J.D. still surveying?
It was good to catch up with John and Shawn both. I was a little disappointed that Deward K. Bowles didn't make it though.
?ÿ
How did you do that?????????ÿ Did the addition of the middle initial make all the difference??????
All I got was Dxxxxx xxxxxs.
There were two of the same first name, you know.
@shawn-billings?ÿ ?ÿCongrats, Shawn.?ÿ Your videos for Javad were some of the best explanations of surveying technology.?ÿ ?ÿBest of luck on your new venture.
Andy?ÿ
@andy-nold It was so great to see you. I'm hated to hear about the difficulties you've had the past year, but I was really proud of seeing how you're persevering through it. I was just sitting here thinking that we've probably known each other for 20 years now. Hard to believe.
@andy-j That compliment means a whole lot coming from you! Thank you. You've been on my mind the past few days. I know you used to live on Sanibel Island, if I recall correctly. How have you fared through Ian?
Shawn,
Please join in more often.?ÿ Is J.D. still surveying?
Mr. Cow. Yes, Dad is still surveying. I ventured out and started my own company about six years ago.
Between consulting and later selling for Javad and trying to run my own business, I've been somewhat absentee from Surveyor Connect - especially the past couple of years. I'm sure I'll have more time to join in now.
@shawn-billings?ÿ ?ÿI moved back home to Illinois last year, but it's heartbreaking to see my friends on the news and the destruction of the area.?ÿ I fear the worst is yet to come, as many of the buildings that survived will have to be demolished.?ÿ Luckily, my friends who stayed on island have been accounted for.?ÿ ?ÿThey will never make that choice again, I'm sure.
