So I have been recently approved to sit for the Oklahoma OLS exam to receive my PLS. I reside in Louisiana and most states I have applied to only have a 2 Hour State Specific exam that you must pass before licensure by comity. I am now finding out that Oklahoma has an OLS (Oklahoma Law and Survey) and also has an OLLS (Oklahoma Law & Land Survey) exam that you must take after passing the OLS exam. My question is when do you take the OLLS exam? I will be driving 9 hours to go and take the OLS in August and the board is telling me that upon passing it they will provide me with the OLLS exam? Do they grade the OLS exam right away and you take the OLLS the same day? Do they grade it later and just mail the OLLS exam to you? Anybody know how the process works? Not really getting any details from the board on this.:-S
The OLS state specific is a 2 hour exam- you should be taking that October 25.
My understanding is once you get the results from that test, usually 4-6 weeks, they then set you up for Part B, to be taken at your convienence- I think thats how it works- I will be there Oct. 25 for the two hour...
I was scheduled to take it on Oct. 25 just like anywhere else would be but since I am applying by Comity they scheduled an optional earlier date on August 19th. I just don't know how the Part "B" works. I am assuming I will have to go back and take that one?
I dont think so- I think its something they send you- contact Sue Andrews at the board- she has been very helpful with me

It is an open-book exam they mail to you.
Thanks guys. Anybody have any advice on study material?
The Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors has some good information on their website. You better know the Corner Perpetuation and Filing Act backward and forward.
Well,
Looks like I lucked up and passed. I should be receiving my certificate this week. Thanks for the help guys. I know a couple of you guys were there also, how did you do?
