Great to see so many young students from 22 schools participating in the NSPS competition on the Mall in D.C.?ÿ Trials in triangulation with a T-2, leveling and Compass and chain traverse.?ÿ Nice Spring weather.?ÿ They all go a chance to see the historical BM (NGS station A, PID HV1841) set in 1878 by Lt. Thomas Casey to support the rebuilding of the Washington Monument foundation - commonly called the "Mini Monument" it's 14 ft deep and only accessible by special dispensation from the National Park Service.?ÿ
