Howdy,

For those interested, check out beta.NGS.NOAA.gov/myear

Page title is: "Summary of the reanalysis of GPS Data and Release of Revised CORS Positions and Velocities.". That kind of says it all. There are a number of detailed graphics linked through the site including differences between NAD 83(2011) minus NAD 83(CORS 96) both epoch 2002.0.

Usual fascinating stuff.

Enjoy,

DMM

Thanks for bringing this up again Mike,

I have been following this pretty closely over the last couple of years, and submitted made several posts (here and on POB) about what this MEANS to LAND Surveyors.

Here is a cut-n-paste from you link:

“The new coordinates IGS08 epoch 2005.00 and NAD 83(2011) epoch 2010.00 were established using IGS08 absolute antenna phase center patterns. If a user processes data using relative antenna phase center values instead of absolute antenna phase center values they may get positions that differ by up to a few centimeters as compared to processing using absolute antenna phase center values. Users must therefore change the antenna phase center values they use when processing data. NGS has established a beta website with IGS08 consistent absolute antenna phase center values that users can download to test in conjunction with the coordinates listed on this page. Follow this link for more detailed information beta Absolute Antenna Calibration Values”

Folks (and vendors) NEED to get their wits about them, and get with the program (lightsquared aside).

Loyal
