I run base and rover. It is very robust, I seem to get fixes just about everywhere. I have had the opportunity to sign up with a State school sponsored single base line network. The base/rover setup leaves the network in the dust. I have tested them side by side on a regular basis. What I dont understand is that on the network, my latency is 0-1, meaning my cell connection to the reference station is solid, but will have extended floats and that doesnt happen with the base/rover. With only 6 miles or so away, the reference station is seeing the same birds as my base, why does it float so much. Dont get me wrong, it does fix, but its not something you can rely on. I mainly use it to set up an initial point to compare opus solutions to. Any thoughts or advise on this?
